World Book Night is a national celebration of reading and books which takes place every year. Books are given out across the UK with a focus on reaching those who don’t regularly read.

Books are gifted through organisations including prisons, libraries, colleges, hospitals, care homes and homeless shelters, as well as by passionate individuals who give out their own books within their communities.

World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers. To find out more, visit the web page: http://worldbooknight.org/
This year is extra special as it is the National Year of Reading 2026! The charity is uniting adults across the UK with reading, by encouraging everyone to join in the #ReadingHour from 7-8pm. They suggest dedicating time to either reading alone, having a book club meeting, listening to an audiobook, or reading to children at bedtime.

Have you read a good book lately? Would you recommend it to your friends? If you would like to write a book review for the newsletter, please send it in and we will be happy to print it for you!
