Whoops! There was an error in the sudoku in the last newsletter
Whoops! There was an error in the sudoku in the Puzzle Time section of our July/August newsletter! Thank you to all our eagle-eyed puzzlers out there who got in touch to tell us there was one “2” too many in the bottom row!
You were all absolutely correct – and we sincerely apologise. Our design team takes full responsibility for the mistake. So sorry!
Amongst all the calls and emails that we received, there was a particularly lovely message from a visitor who had some wonderful things to say about our community. Here is what they said:
Dear Camber Community News,
I am only a short-term visitor to Camber this week. Before I make my comment about the sudoku puzzle in the current edition of this excellent local magazine, I need to say how enjoyable the village of Camber is. I am currently here with my family, Wife Edie, Son Andrew, Daughter Tamsin and Grandchildren Tabbitha and Elizabeth.
I have only been here once before - back in the 60’s with my own parents - it is wonderful to be back. I was delighted to find that your church - St Thomas - had a communion service on Sunday morning. A wonderfully friendly team there, such a shame that so few attend nowadays.
However the children have been delighted to get on to the beach in this very sunny weather - the beach is as impressive as I remember.
Now, back to the Sudoku in edition 146. I thought I was making a silly error until I noticed the printing error (there are two 2s in the bottom middlebox).
I tried to look up the suggested solution in your online edition/website, but as you are no doubt aware, these are only currently available for the puzzles in edition 144 (May 2026) and previous, so I was unable to see what the printing error might have been.
My very best wishes, perhaps I will be tempted to visit again and bit sooner that the gap this and my previous visit!
