A reminder: From 1st May until 30th September, dog walkers can utilise the beach to the west of Zone C and to the east of Zone K, as in previous years.
The beach cleaning team is responsible for clearing up after the winter and getting the beach ready to receive visitors once more.
Returning at Easter, the team has been building on the work done by Nurdle since last November. Their tasks, so far, have included clearing up items that wash up on the beach on a daily basis throughout the winter, which can include parts of jetties or buildings, whole trees, and dead animals.
They’ve re-sited all the bins and cleaned the roads leading to and from the car parks along with the surrounding areas. Preparation is key; as the summer rolls on the team will really have their work cut out for them with an increase of public rubbish to deal with as well as all the sand.
Want to help? Join the Team! Recruitment is open for seasonal roles for Summer 2026. Our parking and beach patrol staff are a vital part of our summer operation, ensuring the safety of beach users and enhancing the visitor experience.
In exchange for commitment, reliability and excellent customer service skills we offer flexible hours, uniform, full training and the chance to work in a beautiful environment. For more information contact joel.hunt@rother.gov.uk
