Where Have You Been?

CCN at Progresso

Last month, the newsletter went on a cruise! We printed pictures of the October edition on a plane and boarding a cruise ship… we can now reveal its destination was the Gulf of Mexico!

Here are some of the highlights:

Progreso: This is a port city on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula which has a very long pier, making it an ideal docking point for cruise ships.

Hell Grand Cayman: Yes, the newsletter has literally been to Hell and back! Hell Grand Cayman is a geological wonder that formed over 24 million years ago. Short black limestone formations with jagged pinnacles are in stark contrast the lush green vegetation and blue sky that surround them. The site is small – about the size of half a football pitch – but it is one of the Cayman Islands’ most visited attractions!

Cozumel: This is a small Mexican Island in the Caribbean Sea, famed for its SCUBA diving. There are diving spots in its national parks where explorers can dive to a section of the Mesoamerican Reef or search out underwater caverns which are home to dolphins, manatees and sea turtles.

This copy of the newsletter was left in the ‘newspaper rack’ of a local business, next to The Cayman Times.

Back on English shores, the newsletter also took a trip to the mouth of the River Thames near Dartford. Unfortunately, it was an overcast and rainy day so we don’t get to see the full beauty of the Old Father Thames’ surrounding landscape, but the picture is proof that the newsletter was there!

And, even closer to home, the newsletter paid a visit to The Giving Tree at Priory Meadow shopping centre in Hastings. The display has returned to Priory Meadow for the seventh year running and has a collection station for people to donate a Christmas gift for the children of families who use the Hastings Food Bank. This copy of the newsletter was left near to the big teddy bear for anyone to pick up and read.
