Where have you been?

Last month we started a new feature which involves the Camber Community Newsletter travelling around the globe, spreading news of our amazing village and beach! In August, CCN made its way to Scotland.

In September, the newsletter took a trip to another beach – Deal, in Kent. Avid CCN readers placed a copy of the newsletter at the base of the 3-metres high bronze ‘Embracing the Sea’ statue of a fisherman wrestling his catch, which is at the entrance to Deal Pier, and photographed it. Nice one! The newsletter was also photographed beside Deal’s famous 1,026 feet long, concrete pier.
This copy was left in the Route One Café just by the pier. We have been told the staff there are brilliant, and the customer service is second to none! Well worth a visit! Maybe, after reading about Camber, some Deal folk will take a daytrip here?

Slightly more exotic that a cloudy Kent coast, the newsletter also found its way too Innsbruck, the state capital of Tyrol in Austria!

Innsbruck sits on the River Inn and the name Innsbruck literally translates to ‘bridge over the Inn’. Famous for its distinctive architecture and many churches, the city lays in a valley between the enormous Alps, which can be seen in the background of the picture!
Although German is the official language of Austria, some 40% of people there also speak English. This copy was passed round passengers on a bus before ending up in the hotel foyer. We hope they enjoyed reading about Camber!

Thank you to everyone who sent in photos!

When you go off on your travels, however near or far flung, please take your copy of CCN with you and snap a picture of it in different places, and then send it in to us at cambernews@hotmail.com. If you have finished reading it by the time you take the picture, why not leave your copy at the destination for someone else to read, and maybe they will also fall in love with Camber!

Happy snapping, Camber folk – we look forward to receiving your pictures!
