The Green Economy organisation reported on the UK’s 2024 progress towards improving our environmental impact. Here’s what they have to say about the UK sustainability in 2024.
At the end of November, the owners of Camber Post Office erected a fence along their boundary with Sea Road, as well as an identical fence around The Old Garage site, with a gate opening on to the Post Office forecourt.
Just over a year after the sudden closure of Pontins, Camber residents were pleased to find out that representatives from Britannia Hotels had agreed to meet with our MP and Rother District Council.
As reported in the December edition of CCN, we will be running news and advice from the NHW Scheme and Camber’s newly-formed Community Speed Watch throughout 2025, funded by the Office of the Police Crime Commissioner.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Camber Parish Council for funding our new SL700 radar speed gun. (This is the same piece of equipment the police use.)
With winter firmly upon us, we are all trying our best to dodge the usual seasonal nasties such as colds and ‘flu. This month I took a look at the superstitions surrounding sneezing.
Storm Bert was still raging as we went to print for the December edition of the newsletter (in late November). We had just over two days of battering wind which left our village Christmas tree cowering, whilst other parts of the country suffered widespread and severe flooding as 80% of November’s average rainfall came in just 48 hours.
Over the last couple of months, the newsletter has travelled far and wide! The November edition found itself on a cruise ship, The Explorer of the Seas, going off on a Caribbean Cruise! The newsletter can be seen in Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and the Dominican Republic!
