There has been much publicity, recently, about the risks of incorrectly charging e-Bikes and e-Scooters, causing house fires across the country.
The popular Camber Community Lunches started again on Friday 4th October in the Camber Memorial Hall, from 12 noon to 1.30 pm. As well as delicious soup, there were savoury scones and sausage rolls on offer – and chocolate cake for afters!
I’ve had a couple of trips home this last two months and unfortunately missed out on the community lunch… And the filming on the beach!
With generous donations from Camber folk, Dawn raised over £500 from her garden sales and a fundraising table at the Camber summer fete!
Temporary fencing has been erected around the lawn area outside the now-closed Pontins/NISA shop.
In the same year that we have celebrated the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the largest amphibian invasion in the history of warfare, we also mark 150 years since the birth of Sir Winston Churchill.
Here at the newsletter, we would like to join the Monday Club in thanking the staff at NISA for nominating us each for a share of the Making a Difference Locally (MADL) fund, before the NISA store closed in September.
It was another busy month at The Castle! Whilst the karaoke and Old Skool discos were scaled back for the impending winter season, October saw the start of a new regular slot: Sunday Funday Vibes!
This month, the newsletter took a trip to a ‘virtual’ Germany! Not quite the real country, but the Cinque Ports Arms in New Romney went German for a weekend at the beginning of October, hosting Oktoberfest.
