Despite the July weather being a bit unreliable, we kept the faith and themed the prizes towards the summer break!
There were toys and games, both indoor and outdoor, gardening tools, colouring sets, a clock, lots of sweets – including some huge marsh mallows for the barbecue – plenty of booze, household items and equipment, toiletries, and the ever-popular fruit basket! There was also a beautiful birdbox, hand-made and donated by a Camber resident. We even had a huge Barney the Dinosaur toy! (That was the first prize to be chosen!) As always, there was a £10 cash prize for the special game of stand-up-sit-down bingo, and bottles of wine for the ‘last-number-lotto’.
The room was full with players – creating a good mood and a fun evening. Bingo caller extraordinaire, Ian, called the numbers. Ever popular, Ian treated us all to his notorious dry wit and humour throughout the evening.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the Camber residents who donated prizes, along with the Camber Castle. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Ian for calling, and to all the staff at The Castle, and to all the players for making it such a great evening!
