2024 has been a good year for the Common Ragwort in Camber. The Dunes and edges of the beach, and most of Johnson’s Field, have been covered in its bright yellow flowers and tall green stalks.

In August the Pelwood Road bookstop was pushed over and vandalised. It was suspected that this was by youths staying on the holiday park but no further action could be taken.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal was awarded to frontline emergency service workers who had completed five years of service on May 6, 2023, and who dealt with emergencies as part of their job.
The Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics took place on the same day as the Camber Village Summer Fete.
Camber Parish Council has been working hard to set up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in the village.
Once more, the team at Camber Community Group find themselves saying a big “WOW, Camber, you did it again!!”
The weekends of 20th/21st July and 3rd/4th August, I had a boot sale on my drive and again at the Camber Summer Fete on 11th August, with Gina Allan, who started the Ambulance for Ukraine.
It is something that is happening across England, and something that this newsletter has reported on numerous times over the last decade or so.
As part of the Camber Sands Welcome Centre project, Rother District Council secured funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to hold two days of free events in Camber that explore local habitats, wildlife, dune management and care.
