Making a Difference Locally

Here at the newsletter, we would like to join the Monday Club in thanking the staff at NISA for nominating us each for a share of the Making a Difference Locally (MADL) fund, before the NISA store closed in September.

Store Manager, Aidan, realised that there were some unallocated funds in the kitty that were for the purpose of helping causes, projects and groups within the village. He sent out application forms and the money ended up being split between Camber Community Newsletter and the Monday Club.
The printing costs for our village newsletter are ongoing, and always rising – along with everything else these days(!) – meaning there is a constant need to fundraise. To receive an unexpected grant of £275 has made a difference to the team as it can be put towards those printing costs. We also ring-fenced a part of the money to pay for some prizes and gifts for this year’s Christmas Fayre on 23rd November.

Sam, from Monday Club, told us this: “This donation really has made such a difference to us at Monday Club. We know that our time at Monday Club will eventually have to finish because we really don’t have the children attending to make it viable. But because children are still coming, and we know that the ones who do attend are enjoying it, then we shall ensure we do our utmost to continue to stay open while the funds are there to allow this, (and us as staff still have the free time to ensure we can still run it)! The funding Aidan put forward to us has paid for the insurance for this coming year so we are definitely staying open for another year at least!”

Thank you to NISA and MADL for your support!
