It was another busy month at The Castle! Whilst the karaoke and Old Skool discos were scaled back for the impending winter season, October saw the start of a new regular slot: Sunday Funday Vibes! Kicking off on 13th October with Paradise Duo singing some retro tunes, the afternoon included a ‘Specials Board’ drinks price list. From 2pm – 5pm, while the music flowed, the drinks listed on the Specials Board were served at a discounted price. Landlord and Landlady, Pete and Julie, hope to make this a regular fortnightly fixture through the autumn and winter.
The 17th October brought some very sad news to Pete and Julie, when they announced the passing of the pub’s owner, Mr Ted Fleet – a well known and respected member of Camber’s community. The Castle’s Facebook page carried the following announcement:

On 19th October, punters packed The Castle to sing along and dance with a tribute to Elvis. It was Andy T. King’s first visit to The Castle and we are sure there will be many more to come. He went down a storm! If you shut your eyes, it was like the real Elvis Presley was in the room. Hitting the highest and lowest notes with perfection, and showing some convincing leg, hip and dance moves, the crowd roared for an encore, which went on for an extra half an hour before Elvis was finally able to leave the building!
The Castle’s Hallowe’en theme had already begun with the pub expertly decorated with spooky stuff in the run up to the main event. The Hallowe’en Ball is on the 2nd November including a DJ from 8pm, and everyone is invited to come along in fancy dress!
As always, keep an eye out on The Castle’s Facebook page and the noticeboard in the pub for any additional events – different acts are being booked all the time!
