Your Community Group

Camber Community Group, the organisation behind Camber Community Newsletter, was formed 13 years ago this month! In that time, the group has been involved in many community events and projects, some in the public eye, and some running quietly behind the scenes – but always for the good of the village. Here is a list of some of those things:

  • Camber Community Newsletter – 10 issues per year
  • Providing the village Christmas trees and hosting village-wide lighting-up events (After a decade, this was passed over to the Parish Council.)
  • Christmas Fayres and Summer Fetes
  • Village events for the Queen’s Jubilee and the King’s Coronation
  • Quiz Nights
  • Prize Bingo evenings
  • Jumble sales
  • Book stops in Lydd Road and Pelwood Road
  • Concerts in the Memorial Hall and on Jubilee Green
  • Village talent shows in the Memorial Hall
  • Guerilla gardening at various locations around the village
  • Community gardening at Central and Western Car Parks
  • Providing ‘Bee-Bombs’ to villagers
  • Wild flower planting on Jubilee Green
  • Donating gardening equipment to a local organisation
  • Donating plants to the Memorial Hall
  • Knitting and craft meets
  • Recycle Swap Shops
  • Community Walking Group
  • Providing recycling bags for villagers for empty ‘courtesy water’ bottles after a 10-day water outage
  • Supporting local groups with ‘manpower’ and/or free advertising of events
  • Macmillan Coffee Mornings
  • Defibrillator training sessions

If there is a project or event you would like to see happen in the village, Camber Community Group may be able to help. Please let us know!
